Citigroup’s head of energy and utilities research Dale Koenders has resigned from the bank for a gig at Caltex Australia.
Street Talk understands Koenders will take up the role as investor relations boss at Caltex and hand the baton at Citi to James Byrne.
After 12 years or so on the sell side, Koenders is said to have wanted a change. He joined Citi in 2010 after stints at JPMorgan and Sydney Gas.

Prior to joining Citi in 2013 as a research associate, Byrne was a petroleum engineer with Oil Search for four years, with responsibility for production of one of the company’s oil fields.
He was promoted to lead Citi’s local utilities coverage mid last year.
