8 must-attend sessions at this year’s Collision conference  StartUp HERE Toronto

After two years of being a virtual event, Collision, one of the world’s biggest tech conferences, is returning to Toronto June 20 to 23. More than 600 speakers, 850 investors, 1,250 startups and 33,000 attendees are descending on the city to learn about the latest breakthroughs in technology and network with the top leaders in the field. It’s the ideal showcase for Canadian tech — the conference gathers some of the world’s biggest names, giving Toronto locals access to stimulating talks and events that will interest anyone hoping to learn more about startup culture and the tech industry.

Here are a few of the can’t-miss events at Collision 2022. 

Margaret Atwood 

Wired editor-in-chief Gideon Lichfield sits down with bestselling author Margaret Atwood and MaRS CEO Yung Wu as a part of the conference’s opening night. The conversation will delve into the climate crisis and what it will take to get to net zero. (MaRS will also have a large booth on the trade floor, where attendees can hang out and chat with MaRS employees who are there to answer any questions about their services and companies within the innovation hub). Claudette McCowan, TD bank’s global executive officer for cybersecurity and the chair of the Coalition of Innovation Leaders Against Racism (CILAR), joins Wes Hall, Kingsdale Advisors founder and chairman and the founder of BlackNorth Founder, to talk about the link between diversity and a company’s financial performance. The open banking road to a personalized metaverse

In this event hosted by Hossein Rahnama, the founder and CEO of Flybits, a startup that helps banks personalize their online communication with customers with technology that takes into account a user’s purchasing habits and location to provide relevant messages.
