Citigroup Whistle-Blower Denied Share of $400 Million Fine (2) – Bloomberg Tax

A Citigroup Inc. employee who filed a whistle-blower suit over risk management failures was denied a share of a $400 million penalty the bank later paid to resolve similar claims by the Office of Comptroller of the Currency and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Auditor Tamika Miller’s request to share in the award was denied on Wednesday by US District Judge Denise Cote in Manhattan. Miller accused Citigroup of conducting flawed audits of third-party vendors and concealing those audits from regulators and said she gave regulators information that led to the fine.
