Wells Fargo gives Grant for Housing in High Country – Go Blue Ridge

High Country United Way is a nonprofit organization that’s goal is to expand local housing affordability and financial stability in the high country.

Recently the organization was awarded a $50,000 grant from Wells Fargo to carry out this goal. Wells Fargo bank donated this in the hope it would assist low income individuals by giving them the resources needed to break the cycle of poverty and achieve self sufficiency by finding affordable housing solutions. High country United Way gives 100% of its funding to work on nonprofit programs including whammies total family development and weatherization programs, Hospitality House program serving Watauga County, Blue Ridge opportunity commission‘s family self-sufficiency and weatherization, as well as habitat for humanity of Watauga county and habitat for humanity of Avery county.
