TD Bank Student-Athlete of the Week: Delaney Richason – University of Vermont Athletics

BURLINGTON, Vt. – Women’s basketball senior Delaney Richason a Health Science major, is our TD Bank Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending January 29.

Delaney Richason scored a career-high 21 points in a 63-56 victory over Binghamton and then scored 12 points in a crucial victory over UMBC to help lead Vermont to a perfect 2-0 week. Across two games she averaged 16.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals in 32.5 minutes per game. She shot 59.1% (13-22) from the floor and 50.0% (5-10) from three. She was also 100% (2-2) from the free throw line. With the two wins Vermont extended their longest winning streak (seven games) since the 2010 season.
 
The Catamounts return to Patrick Gym for a meeting with America East leading UAlbany on Saturday at noon. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3 and Ryan Zimmerman, the voice of Catamounts women’s basketball, will be on the call on radio on WVMT.
