The study – Breaking Barriers: Unlocking the Potential of Women Entrepreneurs – has been released by ISB on the basis of the data of more than 2,400 women entrepreneurs who participated in the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women initiative in India.
Women entrepreneurs who took part in the programme managed to double their workforce, quadruple their revenue and increase their productivity by 5 times, within the first 18 months after graduating.
As per the report, the GS 10,000 Women Programme created 5 new jobs and adds around Rs 12 Million in revenue after 18 months of graduating. However, as the years go on, the end results of the Goldman Sachs initiative has been better results.
The 10,000 Women programme has collectively created 12,000 new jobs and added Rs 28 Billion in revenue within 18 months of graduating. The report also stated that after completing the programme, around 53 percent of the candidates worked with the alumni of the Goldman Sachs programme.
What is the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Initiative?
Many alumni, such as Seema Oka, Nivedita Prasad and many more, go on to join the initiative as mentors and investors after completing their graduation and embarking on their entrepreneurial journey.
