Miami.- To kick off National Homeownership Month, Bank of America is helping hopeful buyers get one step closer to owning a home with a free homebuying workshop event.
The Homebuyer Workshop will take place at Miami Dade College – North Campus; Building 2, Lecture Hall 2158 (First floor) on Saturday, June 3 from 9:30am to 12:00pm ET. Interested attendees can find additional details and RSVP, here: https://rsvp.bankofamerica.com/event/16886.
The workshop will provide guidance and resources to help attendees learn and prepare for homeownership – whether you’re just starting to think about a home purchase or ready to begin the house hunt.
Ahead of the workshop former CNN en Español senior anchor Glenda Umaña will be joined by panelists Justine Jimenez-Garcia, Broker Owner, Countywide Properties, NAHREP National Coach & 2023 Incoming President for Miami Association of Realtors; and Joe Velazquez, Senior Vice President, Production Manager, Bank of America. They will discuss the role homeownership plays in creating a family legacy and building a path to long-term wealth, as well as share insights and advice around homebuying amidst the current Miami market.
During the workshop that will follow the discussion, attendees will learn how to review their credit score and decide how much they can comfortably afford; steps to becoming a homebuyer, including when to choose prequalification vs. preapproval; the types of mortgage programs available, including a 3% down payment mortgage with lower-cost mortgage insurance; resources to find down payment assistance programs and more.
Hopeful homebuyers will also hear more about programs such as the Bank of America Community Homeownership Commitment®. One of the common barriers to homeownership is having enough cash reserves for the upfront down payment. However, with one of the most generous grant programs in the industry, Bank of America offers up to $17,500 in combined down payment and closing costs grants – no repayment necessary.
