June 05, 2023 – Delisher Bankole, a local first responder and business owner, has achieved a significant victory through a partnership with Goldman Sachs. As part of their commitment to impact the lives of one million Black women, Goldman Sachs pledged $10 billion in capital, and Delisher Bankole’s company, MY GIRLFRIEND’Z PARTY RENTALS, LLC, has been chosen to benefit from this remarkable initiative.
For over 30 years, Delisher Bankole has been providing emergency aid to millions throughout Illinois. Alongside her philanthropic endeavors, she is the founder and CEO of MY GIRLFRIEND’Z PARTY RENTALS, an ecosystem of party rental experts offering Rapid Event Response services. From photo booths to luxury portable restrooms, Delisher’s company keeps the money and the party moving.
In 2022, Delisher Bankole joined 1600 other Black Women Business Owners in applying for the Goldman Sachs One Million Black Women – Black In Business development cohort. Amongst fierce competition, Delisher was selected for the interview process and subsequently offered an opportunity to participate in Cohort 3, which took place in Spring 2023, powered by 1863 Ventures.
Delisher’s selection can be attributed to her ingenious Women InPhilanthropy fundraising ideas, which have helped raise thousands for local organizations like YWCA-MetroChicago. Furthermore, her dedication to the growth of the photo booth rental industry, evident through partnerships across Illinois spanning eight years, likely caught the attention of Goldman Sachs’ astute investment senses.
Recognizing the investment potential of a party rental ecosystem, Goldman Sachs saw Delisher’s well-established foundation, processes, and systems as a strategic advantage. With the necessary infrastructure in place, Delisher is now ideally positioned to achieve remarkable success by targeting corporate and government contracts.
During the intensive ten-week program, Delisher received the equivalent of a master’s program in foundational rigor. Additionally, she was provided with a grant stipend and participated in in-person program orientation and graduation at the prestigious Goldman Sachs Headquarters in New York City.
Thanks to Goldman Sachs’ visionary support, Delisher Bankole has successfully added essential tools and acquired the skills necessary to boldly and intentionally scale her operations for growth in a $400 million industry. Her company, My Girlfriend’z Party Rentals, has transformed into an ecosystem of party rental experts capable of providing rapid event response services throughout the Midwest.
Delisher Bankole expressed her gratitude, stating, “You could have a clever idea, but without processes, systems, and a solid action plan, all you have is a dream.”
