
Bank of America continues to close branches in the United States, following a trend caused by the rise of online banking. Trends last year suggested 78% of US adults prefer banking digitally instead of going to a brick-and-mortar branch.
The Bank of America branches that will close in October 2023
When banks will close a branch, they must notify the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) at least 90 days before the closing date through an Advance Notice of Branch Closing, as stated in the Comptroller’s Licensing Manual.
Each of the closures are documented in a weekly bulletin, shared by the OCC. Taking into account that the announcement of the closure is made 90 days before, the July bulletins include information on the Bank of America branches that close in October.
In the bulletin of July 1, the OCC reported the upcoming closure of two branches:
- 27500 Novi Road, Novi, Michigan
- 4000 Baldwin Road, Auburn Hills, Michigan
In the bulletin of 8 July, the OCC reported the closure of several Bank of America branches in California:
- 2925 Scott Blvd, Santa Clara
- 200 Cochrane Plaza, Morgan Hill
- 1275 Fell St, San Francisco, California
- 3491 McKee Rd, San Jose
- 1400 Moraga Way, Moraga
- 2049 Century Park East, Los Angeles
In the same bulletin the upcoming closure of the following branches was reported:
- 108 Main St, Medway, Massachusetts
- 49 Main St, Franklin, Massachusetts
In the bulletin of July 15, the closure of two more Bank of America branches was reported:
- 7170 Cradlerock Way, Columbia, Maryland
- 1111 East Main Street, Richmond, Virginia
In the following bulletin, dated July 22, the OCC announced the closure of two more branches:
- 20708 Bothell-Everett Highway, Bothell, Washington
- 1310 S. Rochester Road, Rochester, Michigan
Finally, in the July 29 bulletin, the closure of one more Bank of America branch in the District of Columbia was reported:
- 2001 Pennsylvania Ave, Washington, DC
