MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (Diya TV) — Gunjan Kedia will be the next chief executive officer of U.S. Bancorp, the company announced. Kedia, currently president of U.S. Bancorp, will assume the role of CEO after the annual shareholders meeting on April 15. She will also join the Board of Directors.
Kedia, 54, succeeds Andy Cecere, who will transition to the role of executive chairman. Cecere, who has been CEO since 2017, will continue to lead the board and support Kedia during the transition.
Kedia comes with nearly three decades of experience in the financial industry. She joined U.S. Bancorp in 2016 and has been instrumental in driving the company’s revenue. Before joining U.S. Bancorp, Kedia held global executive roles at State Street and BNY Mellon and worked at McKinsey & Company and PwC.
Known widely for her work as a leader, Kedia has been listed seven times on American Banker’s “Most Powerful Women in Banking and Finance” list and twice on Barron’s “100 Most Influential Women in U.S. Finance”.
In her new role, Kedia underscored commitment to integrity and innovation, saying, “We will build on a solid foundation of integrity and doing business the right way to drive growth.”
