Amit Sinha, a partner at Goldman Sachs with expertise in life sciences investing, is the new chair of Stanford Health Care’s board of directors.

He assumed the role on Jan. 1 after having served as vice chair since May 2025 and as a member of the board since 2023. He succeeds Silicon Valley entrepreneur Marc Jones, who served as chair for four years.

“I am delighted to welcome Amit as chair of the Stanford Health Care Board of Directors,” said David Entwistle, president and CEO of Stanford Health Care. “Amit’s deep experience in innovation, finance and the life sciences — combined with his longstanding support of Stanford University and our health systems — make him an exceptional partner for Stanford Health Care’s next chapter.”

Sinha, chief investment officer and global head of life sciences investing for Goldman Sachs Asset Management, brings expertise in finance and biomedical innovation. He began his career at Boston Consulting Group, where he focused on strategic and operational improvement projects for biotechnology companies. In 2004, he joined the health care investment banking team at Goldman Sachs, where he was global head of biotechnology investment banking. In 2021, he joined Goldman Sachs Asset Management in his current role, where he leads a team focused on making investments in emerging therapeutics companies.

An alumnus of Stanford University, Sinha has a long record of service to the university. He is also a member of the Stanford Board of Trustees and formerly served on the board of Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford.

“At Stanford Medicine, I have seen firsthand what is possible when world-class science and clinical excellence come together for patients,” Sinha said. “It’s an honor to serve as chair of the Stanford Health Care board, and I look forward to partnering with my fellow board members, as well as clinicians, staff and leadership, to keep driving innovations in care for our patients, families and communities.”
