More than 20 people were arrested after climate activists blocked the entrance to Citigroup’s Manhattan offices on Monday, June 10.
ABC7 New York reported that at least 23 protesters were arrested. The NYPD told Storyful they could not confirm information about arrests at this time.
The action was part of “The Summer of Heat on Wall Street” campaign, the report said, targeting Wall Street companies and asking them to stop funding oil, coal, and gas.
Footage published by the activist group Climate Defenders shows protesters holding signs and chanting in front of the building. Later on, several people can be seen being taken away with their hands restrained. Credit: Climate Defenders via Storyful
